Altan is a courageous and impressive character, and she is not alone. It is very clear that she is among vicious people, and living her own life with her own heart isn’t easy. Altan finds an unexpected connection with Kengi, and that makes it all worthwhile. They have strong, organic chemistry. The action throughout is intense and real. The script doesn’t feel the need to embellish it or go over-the-top. As a result, there is a sense of verisimilitude that we can appreciate. Scenes like Tamir training Altan are gripping and further increase our engagement. This is a violent, harrowing story, and the characters are constantly in danger.

“Silk Road Runaways” is an exhilarating, cinematic script with action and drama. It should appeal to fans of both genres. The setting alone is a hook. There are not many movies set here. The movie would have a very diverse cast, and that representation is important. The right young actresses playing Altan and Kengi might find breakout roles here. The budget would likely be substantial. It would take a lot of work to bring this world to life.
